North West Coastal Forum hosted the Coastal Habitat Restoration and Creation Conference and subsequently set up the Regional Coastal Habitat Working Group. The aim is to build partnerships and share knowledge about the ongoing coastal restoration work along the North West Coast.
Coastal Habitat Creation and Restoration Conference
On the 6th and 7th March, the North West Coastal Forum held a Coastal Habitat Conference in Carlisle. During this conference delegates listened to presentations, engaged in workshops, interacted with exhibitions, and celebrated the winners of the North West Awards for Coastal Excellence.

Regional Coastal Habitat Working Group
This group has been established to support knowledge sharing across the region - from saltmarsh restoration projects to presentations on Blue Carbon. It aims to benefit everyone involved in restoring and managing the North West Coast.
The group focuses on habitat compensation and restoration, as well as Shoreline Management Plans. By linking flood risk management, climate change, and habitat restoration, it provides a platform for sharing best practise and promoting collaborative, sustainable approaches to coastal management.
