Alice Watts is a capacity building and learning specialist with more than eight years' experience supporting the Coastal Partnerships Network (CPN) and Coastal, Estuary and Marine Partnerships (CEMPs) throughout the UK. During this time, she has worked across coordination, research, project delivery, programme development, training and knowledge exchange, helping to strengthen partnerships and support coastal practitioners.

With an interdisciplinary background spanning environmental and social perspectives, Alice enjoys bringing together people from different sectors and disciplines to address shared coastal challenges. Her work focuses on understanding the needs of partnerships, identifying common priorities, and developing practical programmes, resources and opportunities that enable people to learn from one another and enhance their impact.

Drawing on extensive consultation, engagement and pilot delivery, Alice has shaped CPN's approach to capacity building and led the development of a national Capacity Building Programme. The programme combines learning, mentoring, peer exchange and knowledge sharing to support practitioners at every stage of their careers while strengthening connections across the network.

Alice leads the delivery of this programme, working closely with partnerships and partner organisations to build on existing expertise and create opportunities for collaboration, learning and shared problem-solving throughout the coastal sector.
